The claim that Fulani herdsmen operate independently is a dangerous fiction. They are recruited, armed, and strategically deployed onto land they neither sow nor own for the sole purpose of grazing.
Nigeria must direct its outrage towards the unseen hands of the cattle merchants who orchestrate this violence. Miyetti Allah and Mr Nasir El-Rufai hold the key to their identities. I will come back to this later.
The Nigerian leadership is not ignorant of the forces fueling this insecurity and destabilizing our nation. Their unwillingness to confront the owners of these destructive enterprises points to a disturbing reality: we risk being held hostage by the Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (Miyetti Allah).
President Tinubu, while your international engagements are noted, the cries of our ravaged farmlands and terrorized communities demand your immediate attention. You must hold accountable the Cattle Merchants who arm and dispatch these killers, masquerading as herders, to invade and exploit land that is not theirs.
The question remains: Who are these shadowy Cattle Merchants? The answer lies, at least in part, with individuals like Mr. El-Rufai and organizations like Miyetti Allah.
Must Abuja remain silent? Is there no vestige of conscience left in the corridors of power? Has the pursuit of wealth blinded you to the reality of our nation’s peril? Nigeria is at war, and Miyetti Allah has openly waged it against our innocent citizens.
Today, I voice the anguish of Nigeria’s helpless travellers and farmers. I take a Stand for Peace, Security, and Progress in Nigeria, and hold Miyeti Allah responsible for our current state of insecurity and helplessness.
My focus on Mallam Nasir El-Rufai is not born of personal animosity. I have nothing against him. His past involvement, evidenced by his compensation to foreign cattle owners to prevent conflict in Kaduna, demonstrates his capacity to identify influential figures within the cattle industry. It is therefore a logical demand that he now leverage this knowledge to expose the owners operating within our borders.
